Fabian is a native of Bogota, Colombia, and attended the University of La Salle. He graduated from WKU with a major in Agri-Business and Ag-Economics. He also graduated with a Master’s degree in animal science (large animal nutrition) from WKU. His special interests are Dairy Sustainability, Animal welfare, Livestock Management, Dairy Nutrition, Physiology of Lactation, and Ag Business Management.
Sustainability is engrained in the work that DMI does, housing the dairy industry’s initiative to be net neutral by 2050. Fabian is working to map out how the industry will achieve this goal.
Dr. Samantha Werth

Dr. Samantha Werth serves as Executive Director of the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (USRSB). In this role, her primary focus is on building collaborative partnerships to support USRSB sustainability goals and to raise awareness for beef as an essential part of a sustainable food system. Dr. Werth is a native of California, and completed her undergraduate, masters and doctoral studies at the University of California, Davis.
She received a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2012, a Master of Science in Animal Biology in 2015, and her Doctorate in Animal Biology in 2021. Dr. Werth’s graduate studies were completed under the mentorship of UC Davis professor, well-known air quality expert and director of the CLEAR Center, Dr. Frank Mitloehner. Her doctoral studies were centered around sustainable beef production and her dissertation was focused on understanding the economic and environmental impacts of ground beef compared to plant-based meat alternatives.
