Advocacy & Legislation
AEM represents the policy interests of equipment manufacturers on international, federal, state and local matters out of the Washington, D.C. office. We advance policies that promote the health of the equipment industry on issues that directly impact our manufacturers, as well as those that affect our customers, suppliers and markets.
I Make America
AEM has launched I Make America, a national grassroots campaign to dramatically increase jobs for America's equipment manufacturers. By visiting www.IMakeAmerica.com and signing your name in support of the campaign, you can help show Congress and the Administration how important passing strong pro-manufacturing policies is to your community, and to our country. The message of I Make America is simple: we need a new manufacturing policy that creates jobs by rebuilding and modernizing America's infrastructure, and by helping our farmers and manufacturers sell their products to new markets around the world. Nothing in Washington gets done without making a little noise, so join us and make your voice heard today. We make America... and so do you.
AEM Members can reach out to employees about participating in the campaign by using the materials provided in the I Make America toolkit. Please join the industry movement!
Public Policy Issues
AEM represents the policy interests of equipment manufacturers before the state and federal governments in the United States and around the world. AEM keeps its members informed of legislation and regulation that affects their businesses and strengthens our industry's ability to positively influence the development of policy critical to our economic vitality.
Get Involved: Prosperity Project
A successful government relations strategy requires involvement from local citizens – real people just like you who can demonstrate to lawmakers how issues affect them, their jobs, their families and communities. The Action Center is here to help AEM members get and stay involved in the political process. Through the Action Center you can write your lawmakers, stay on top of election news, see how often your representatives voted with our industry's interests in mind or even register to vote.
Communications with Congress
AEM regularly relays industry views to congressional leaders through testimony before congressional committees, comments on proposed legislation and policy letters, as well as through joint letters sent by the many industry and business coalitions and groups in which AEM maintains membership. As a constituent and voter, you can reinforce these efforts and help to make our voice heard by writing to your own congressional representatives.
AEM Political Action Committee (AEMPAC)
AEMPAC supports candidates for federal office who pursue governmental policies that promote a favorable business climate for AEM and the equipment manufacturing industry. AEMPAC helps us engage and strengthen relationships with key officials and decision makers. Our PAC investments help generate informed decisions on issues that directly impact our business and contribute to our bottom line – your participation in AEMPAC is important and meaningful.
Global Public Policy Committee
AEM's Global Public Policy Committee directs government relations programs and makes budget and appropriations recommendations to AEM's Board of Directors.
AEM Transportation Funding Proposal
A revenue-neutral solution to rebuild and modernize America's interstates without raising the gas tax.
