Mission Statement
To provide strategic and operational direction to the AEM Board of Directors and AEM staff for services and activities pertaining specifically to the agricultural equipment manufacturing members and service providers. The committee will be the advocate for Ag members in the association.
Membership
All AEM members with agriculture business interests are automatically members of the Council. Each company has one vote on issues coming before the council, however unlimited representatives from a single company may attend meetings and participate in activities of the AEC.
Leadership
Leadership of the Council is provided by an Executive Committee of 9 – 12 members, including a representative of the Supplier Council. The AEM Vice Chairman-Agriculture (an AEM Board of Directors position appointed by the AEM Chairman) is the chairman the AEC.
Members of the Executive Committee are appointed by the Chair with guidance from AEM members and AEM staff. Executive Committee members are to represent a cross section of the ag product sectors and the overall ag membership of the association. Only one representative of a member company may sit on the Executive Committee.
A vice chair is elected by the Executive Committee for a one-year, renewable term.
Role of the Executive Committee
- Identify and develop industry positions and recommendations on ag related issues for consideration by the AEM board
- To develop industry positions regarding regulatory and legislative matters impacting the ag marketplace
- Identify and recommend additional services or service improvements to AEM ag member companies
- Provide a defined communications path for staff to address ag issues
- Provide direction to staff in planning the annual Ag Marketing Conference
