AEM's Product-Specific Groups
United in advancement, AEM members are making a difference in the industries we serve.
AEM product-specific bureaus and councils bring together peers and competitors, allowing manufacturers of similar
equipment to discuss related industry topics and issues on environmental, safety and operation, statistics, technical
standards and government. Working together within these groups, manufacturers are a powerful force in dialog and
interaction with labor, contractor, distribution and government groups.
What are AEM Bureaus and Councils?
In AEM bureaus and councils, companies which manufacture and market similar equipment can work together on issues of
mutual interest and formulate industrywide courses of action. AEM currently operates 38 product-specific groups.
Market statistical programs
A major activity of a number of AEM groups is the development of statistical reporting programs, which provide
participating members with accurate, timely and comprehensive market data.
Some AEM groups also participate in international statistical exchange programs covering North America, Europe and the
Pacific Rim.
Group technical activities
Bureaus and councils can also conduct technical-related activities, which include monitoring and providing industry
positions on standards and regulatory issues that affect a group's product lines. Technical groups also develop
and produce safety, technical and educational materials which provide uniform product terminology or other operational
information.
AEM Bureaus and Councils: A tool for action!
AEM's product-specific groups are the ideal way for equipment manufacturers to organize and act on statistical, safety,
environmental, regulatory and legislative issues by product. And, AEM is organizing new product-specific groups to
target and meet manufacturers' needs.
