Mission The AEM External Liaison Committee (for construction equipment) focuses
on building and maintaining contacts with external organizations in the U.S. and other parts of the world for the
purpose of promoting industry interests and advancing industry consensus positions on technical matters related to
construction equipment. The External Liaison Committee works closely with the AEM Standards
and Regulations Committee for Construction Equipment which is responsible to identify, evaluate, prioritize and
develop the consensus AEM position on technical issues related to standards or regulations impacting construction
equipment.
Membership Membership on the External Liaison Committee is open to technical
personnel at the executive level of AEM construction equipment companies which have a demonstrated commitment, within
AEM, to openness and sharing of information they acquire on emerging product issues and active participation with
their industry colleagues in carrying out the committee's mission.
Definitions
"External liaison": Communication/interaction between any organizational
entity of AEM, or a member thereof (when acting in an AEM capacity), and any external organization regarding
technical matters of interest to AEM or its member companies.
"External organizations" include: standards developing organizations,
legislative bodies, regulatory agencies, other trade associations, equipment dealer/distributor groups, customer
groups, and safety organizations.
