Location:
The conference will be held at The Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa, 3555 S. Ocean Drive, Hollywood, FL 33019. To reserve a room at The Westin, call 1-888-627-9057 and mention AEM to receive the group rate of $199. You can also make your reservations online at The Westin Diplomat. The group rate is available until October 21, 2009 or until the block fills, whichever comes first. Check in is 4:00 p.m. and check out is 12:00 noon.
Getting There:
The resort is easily reached by flying into one of the two major international airports nearby. The Westin Diplomat is just 30 minutes north of Miami International (MIA) and a short 15-minute drive south from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Transportation is available from the airport to the resort through the following shuttle services:
From Miami International Airport – Super Shuttle 800-BLUE-VAN (258-3826) for $28 one-way. Taxi is approximately $60-70 one way. A taxi is approximately $60-70 one way.
From Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport – Go Airport Express (954) 561-8888 for $13 one-way. A taxi is approximately $30-35 one way.
Parking is available at The Westin Diplomat for a cost of $22 per day for Valet or $12 per day for self-parking. Prices quoted for all transportation are subject to change without notice.
What to Wear:
Appropriate attire for the conference is business casual. Temperatures are expected to be in the low 80s during the day and mid 60s in the evenings. Sunday and Monday evening functions are casual and are schedule for outside (pending weather). The Tuesday evening function is business attire, however, if in the past you have worn formal wear, feel free to continue that tradition.
Changes/Cancellations:
All changes, cancellations or substitutions must be made in writing to Amy Laskowski at alaskowski@aem.org. A $75 processing fee will be charged for all cancellations through Wednesday, October 21 and after that date no refunds of registrations or optional activities will be granted. Substitutions can be made at anytime.
