Attenuating Noise and Isolating Vibration

Equipment manufacturers, owners and operators, regulators, and occupational health professionals, are increasingly focused on reducing equipment noise and vibration levels. Fortunately, the means and methods that allow equipment manufacturers to meet these challenges are improving. This detail-oriented seminar is geared to technical professionals in the equipment industry who are charged with noise and vibration assignments.

Created for design engineers, safety and compliance and R & D managers, and engineers of "advanced solutions," the AEM Noise and Vibration Technical Seminar will provide pertinent information, outline the most crucial concerns, and demonstrate what steps can be taken to resolve these challenges, along with short- and long-term solutions. Careful attention has been directed toward identifying presenters who can address the issues within our industries, cite examples of pertinent attenuation/isolation successes and challenges, and offer insight into current regulations and directives.

The program will start with basic acoustics and vibration, and then move into analyzing sources, paths, receivers, and strategies. Attendees will be introduced to current global regulatory schemes, with particular attention paid to Europe and China. Subsequent presentations will include a noise attenuation case study, noise attenuation, and vibration isolation products and their applications. We will also hear from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) regarding their work and resources related to noise which are available to manufacturers. The program will close with a presentation by a nationally recognized expert on engine noise and its solutions.

Who Should Attend?

AEM's Noise and Vibration Technical Seminar is open to employees of equipment manufacturers and their designated outside service professionals. The seminar targets design engineers, research and development professionals, safety and compliance managers, and any other technical professionals tasked with addressing noise and vibration mitigation. It covers both the basics as well as more advanced solutions, and should be especially beneficial for the small to medium-sized manufacturers with more limited internal resources.
