The Clean Water Council (CWC) is a construction industry-based coalition that takes a lead role toward passage water infrastructure legislation. The CWC is a group of national construction contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, engineers and other associations dedicated to water infrastructure funding. The CWC works on all levels of the legislative process to promote water infrastructure funding, including the budget, reauthorization, and annual appropriations processes. |

Lawsuite Abuse Reform Coalition

The Lawsuit Abuse Reform Coalition supports H.R. 420, the Lawsuit Abuse Reduction Act (LARA). The LARA will help rein in frivolous lawsuits by: restoring mandatory sanctions on attorneys, law firms, or parties who file frivolous lawsuits; permitting monetary sanctions, including reimbursement of reasonable attorney's fees and litigation costs in connection with frivolous lawsuits; restoring the opportunity for sanctions for abuses of the discovery process (the process by which lawyers on each side of a case request information from the other side prior to trial); and ending unjustifiable forum shopping and stops litigation tourism. |
