The PICA Public Relations Person of the Year award is presented annually to an equipment manufacturing industry marketing communications professional whom the PICA editors believe exemplifies “best practices” in media relations with the trade press.

Candidates are rated in the following categories: accuracy, knowledge of company/products (and ability to provide access to proper company officials), knowledge of industry publications, trustworthiness, professionalism, producer of press events, kits, materials etc. that are of high quality, value and completeness, and ability to represent company interests and respect trade press integrity and independence.

About Doug Zoerb
Doug Zoerb is Administrator of Marketing Communications for BOMAG Americas. He is a graduate of the University Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in Journalism. His initial career path began in newspapers, including staff writer/photographer and news editor. This was followed by positions at Speed Queen Co. as assistant publications editor, Allis-Chalmers as associate editor for employee communications, Deutz – Allis Corp. as supervisor of advertising materials and Fensholt agency as project copy writer and advertising contact. Prior to coming to BOMAG, he was manager of advertising for Grove Worldwide from 1989 to 1998. Doug’s manager writes that the company needed someone to “hit the ground running” and Doug was that person, that he wears several “hats” for the company, being responsible for all company advertising efforts and trade show activity.
