Local "Build Up" Efforts
CIMA continues efforts to increase the usage and scope of AGC's "Build Up" kits, which target fifth graders with a positive view of the industry and construction as a career.
For example, CIMA 2000 Chairman Lex Taylor of Taylor Machine Works in Louisville, MS, distributed kits to several local schools in Winston County, MS. Taylor notes that school officials were excited about the opportunity to incorporate learning into a fun and creative activity.
The Louisville municipal school superintendent noted in a letter to Taylor Machine Works, "The Build Up program can be integrated into our existing curriculum and provides a connection to the real world of work."
