MBMB Guidelines Pamphlet
The Mounted Breaker Manufacturers Bureau (MBMB) has completed a new pamphlet on the tool energy rating certification process. The intent
is to help explain the rationale behind the industry's first certified testing procedure for hydraulic breakers, as well as the
logistics and benefits of the voluntary certification process.
As the MBMB tool breaker certification grows in popularity and influence in the U.S. and abroad, the succinct information included in
MBMB's "Breakthrough Testing" pamphlet helps fill several important roles. With the pamphlet, CIMA can outline the details
involved in the certification process, both to mounted hydraulic breaker manufacturers and to organizations such as regional
departments of transportation who request information on breaker comparisons.
Global Acceptance
"The CIMA Tool Energy Rating is the first objective, verifiable technique available that buyers can use to compare the single-blow
energy produced by different brands of hydraulic breakers in any size or weight," explains CIMA's Richard Dressler. "Because
of this, the rating is now in global use, being used by manufacturers in Asia, Europe, and North America and accepted by customers as a
valuable informational tool.℘
The pamphlet can provide an important link between manufacturers and customers looking for a way to objectively compare breaker energy
ratings by providing information on the tool energy rating certification process and its verifiable test results.
The pamphlet complements CIMA tool energy rating certification decals that manufacturers can place on their equipment to increase the
visibility of their certification and its benefits to their customers.
