First-Ever CIMA Noise Seminar A Success
Noise reduction efforts are an evolving point of emphasis in the construction equipment industry as equipment manufacturers of all sizes
work to meet changing customer expectations regarding noise levels and sound quality.
CIMA's first-ever industrywide noise-issues seminar in May was a success, providing attendees with detailed information on noise
abatement and environmental noise concerns. A special session was devoted to the new European Noise Directive which goes into effect
January 2002.
"Noise reduction is a high profile issue from both a regulatory and competitive standpoint, and this targeted industry session
helped equipment manufacturers, especially smaller ones with fewer resources, get up to speed on the latest noise control methods and
regulations," noted CIMA's Russell Hutchison.
CIMA plans to continue addressing noise issues to provide a forum for information and idea sharing on the subject.
