Road Machinery Standards
The Compaction and Paving Machinery Technical Committee (CPMTC) continues to take the lead role in a new Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) technical subcommittee for road building machinery standards. The group met in June, and among the topics was the CPMTC asphalt paver nomenclature document and developing it as an SAE standard.
CPMTC also provided leadership for a June meeting of the U.S. technical advisory group of the international standards group for building construction machinery and equipment, ISO Technical Committee 195.
In other action, CPMTC is updating its asphalt paver safety manual.
