New Features of Construction-Careers Website to be Unveiled at Show
Youth scholarship to be awarded at CONEXPO-CONAGG

The AEM CONEXPO-CON/AGG exhibit will spotlight the latest content updates and new interactive features of “ConstructMyFuture.com,” the AEM co-sponsored construction-careers website targeted to students, teachers, counselors and parents.
ConstructMyFuture.com will also award a $1,500 scholarship at the Show to provide an individual with access to post-secondary vocational education with a construction focus.
AEM developed the website with the Associated Equipment Distributors Foundation (AEDF) and the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) to promote a positive image of the construction industry as a rewarding career choice.
Scholarship Presentation
In a presentation that will take place in the AEM booth (GL-3327), ConstructMyFuture. com will award a $1,500 scholarship for post-secondary vocational education with a construction focus to a student currently enrolled in such a program.
Individuals already employed in a construction field are also eligible to win the funds to purchase tools, improving their ability to learn and perform new workplace skills.
The scholarship recipient and the recipient's parents are receiving airfare to Las Vegas, hotel accommodations and tickets to the Show.
Industry Call To Action
New ConstructMyFuture.com features that will be on display at the Show include streaming informational videos, a careers profile section and an interactive question and answer bulletin board. |

A major component of ConstructMyFuture.com is a section for teachers and counselors that includes a resources feature with a database of contractors, distributors, and manufacturers that are willing to become educational resources in their communities.
In an industry-wide call to action, ConstructMyFuture.com encourages Show attendees and exhibitors to visit the AEM booth and register their information or training programs in the site’s educational resources area, expanding this database.
Companies listed in this database have volunteered to help show students the broad range of career choices that are available in the construction industry and to help them learn the skills required to succeed in those careers.
These companies offer one or more of a variety of activities including field trips, informational speakers and materials, internships, career fairs, mentors, job shadowing, machine displays and demonstrations, among other options.
New Interactive Features
Show exhibitors and attendees can stop by the AEM booth to register to act as construction industry educational resources in their communities. |

New interactive site features, including a bulletin board for students to post their questions about the construction industry and streaming videos that illustrate industry professionals at work, will be on display in the AEM booth.
ConstructMyFuture.com will also offer expanded links to sites offering construction-related educational and informational materials.
