AEM in China
Exhibit Pavilions Update - China 2002 Focus
The Association will produce an international exhibits pavilion at China Transpo in 2002, following a successful initial venture in Beijing in 2001.
AEM produced its first international exhibits pavilion in China in fall 2001 at BICES (Beijing International Construction Equipment Show) and the event created positive results for the 22 member companies that participated in the 1,003 sq. meter (10,792 sq. ft.) pavilion.

Several companies signed equipment sales contracts at the event, while others took away solid inquiries, and some are considering setting up offices in China as a result of their exhibit experiences in the AEM-sponsored pavilion.
AEM was uniquely positioned to helps its members have a successful exhibit presence at BICES: the Association has exhibited at past BICES shows, it has several years of experience in staging exhibits pavilions across Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia, and its China office provides continuing in-country liaison with Show organizers.
China Transpo Plans
China Transpo will be the major trade show for China in 2002, and is set to run October 22-25, 2002 at the Beijing National Agricultural Exhibition Center. AEMs China Advisory Committee has recommended an Association-sponsored pavilion for the event.
This will be a new event for the international pavilion program, presenting an exciting opportunity for members, especially in light of the discussions regarding potential consolidation of this show with other major expositions to create a high-impact international trade event for the entire region. (see related story this page).
Pavilion Subsidy Program
In 2001, the Board approved more than $20,000 dollars in rebates to exhibiting companies taking advantage of the pavilion subsidy program, and the Board is making available more than $20,000 for China Transpo pavilion subsidies to exhibitors.
With the subsidy program, qualifying companies can receive subsidies of up to 30% off their total booth space cost, and can also purchase exhibit space only (and provide their own booth) as another option to reduce their space costs.
