Children and Construction
AEM to Unveil New Coloring Book
AEM will introduce a new construction equipment coloring book at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2002. The coloring book is the second installment in a successful series AEM initiated in 1999 to give children a first fun look at construction equipment and its high-tech uses.
The new AEM coloring book depicts construction equipment in use in traditional job scenes such as building parks and schools to help show children how the industry directly affects their daily lives. The coloring book also features futuristic scenes, such as construction equipment being used in space, to help spark childrens curiosity about the construction industry and what it may be like in the future.
Puzzles and word games using construction terms are also included in the coloring book to offer variety and a well-rounded educational experience.
Illustrating Industrys High-Tech Aspects
AEM developed its construction-machine coloring book series to help expose youngsters at an early age to a positive image of the construction industry.
In addition to individual use, the AEM coloring books can be used by companies for local distribution such as childrens tour groups and company picnics.

The new AEM coloring book illustrates the high-tech aspects of the construction equipment industry, such as the use of computers, satellites, and radio-frequency equipment controllers to appeal to children's imaginations and to convey an image of the industry as forward thinking and technologically advanced.
By demonstrating the practical applications of construction equipment, this coloring book can drive home its direct benefits in childrens lives and get their attention at an early age, creating a positive image of the industry and building a curiosity that they will hopefully maintain as they get older, said AEM Marketing Manager Nicole Hallada.
Local Group Distribution
In addition to individual use, the AEM coloring book can be used by companies for local projects and distribution, such as handing them out to children in tour groups at their facilities, using them as prizes at company picnics, distributing them at local construction equipment events, or using them to initiate commentary with local media outlets about the industrys effort to engage childrens natural curiosity.
AEM also encourages allied associations to use the coloring book in their industry-wide construction promotion efforts.
The new AEM coloring book will be available to purchase at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2002, and after the Show, the construction coloring book will be available exclusively through the Associations online ordering system. For more information, contact AEMs Nicole Hallada at 414-298-4129.
