AEMs Mounted Breaker Manufacturers Bureau (MBMB) continues to work with its members to effectively utilize the MBMB certified tool energy rating standard developed to help buyers more accurately compare the single blow energy produced by different brands of hydraulic breakers.
The primary goal of MBMB when it was established in 1990 was development of the tool rating, which is now in use by manufacturers in North America, Asia and Europe.
Voluntary Certification Process
MBMB recently instituted refinements in the voluntary manufacturer certification process, as outlined in the Measuring Guide For Tool Energy Rating For Hydraulic Breakers, to help address concerns over the type and scope of data presented. An informational brochure, Breakthrough Testing, gives a concise summary of the goals of the rating process, testing procedure and a listing of the certified manufacturers.
MBMB has also developed a safety manual, is exploring production of a safety video and continues to address technical issues of concern to members, including noise abatement and warning labels.
