2002 State of the Ag Industry Outlook

This semi-annual report, issued in late January and late July, is the consolidated results of surveys made of AEM agricultural and farm equipment manufacturers regarding their business outlook.
Key Companies Provide Data
The survey is based on the responses from over 45 key AEM agricultural industry member companies that manufacture tractors, combines and other farm field and farmstead equipment. These companies account for more than two-thirds of the total related products sold by the industry.
The AEM ag outlook provides forecasts for 2002 versus 2001 sales in various product categories, with the forecasts for each product line representing the average of the responses from AEM member companies.
Scope of Machinery Covered
Products featured in AEM’s State of the Ag Industry Outlook include:
- two- and four-wheel-drive farm tractors,
- self-propelled combines,
- rectangular balers,
- round balers,
- forage harvesters,
- planters,
- manure spreaders,
- mower conditioners,
- windrowers/swathers,
- field cultivators,
- farm loaders,
- chisel plows,
- disk harrows,
- air seeders/air drills,
- dairy mechanization equipment,
- beef mechanization equipment , and
- milking machines.
