Government affairs committee reorganizes, expands scope
The association has refined the scope of the AEM Government Affairs Committee to more effectively oversee a broader scope of public policy initiatives.
This Board-level committee will act as the centralized source for AEM initiatives addressing legislative and regulatory issues not only of the United States (state and federal) but also Canadian and international governmental activities.
Global Public Policy Committee
The restructured committee will be called the Global Public Policy Committee, and include representatives of AEM planning committees involved in international public policy, including the International Council and association technical groups.
The restructuring will integrate the work of the technical and international committees that had been working independently on policy issues, resulting in more coordination to maximize association resources and an increased awareness of AEM issues before public policy makers worldwide.
Federal and State, Provincial Concerns
The group’s Federal and State Committees will continue to operate, and new to the group is the Canadian Equipment Council (formerly CFIEI) to make recommendations on provincial and national issues involved in Canadian public policy. These include dealer/manufacturer contract legislation, regulations and trade issues.
