CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2005 & IFPE 2005
Shows named to DOC International Buyer Program
Status provides tools to spur overseas attendance
CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2005 and the co-located IFPE 2005 have been selected as participants in the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) International Buyer Program (IBP) in recognition of their status as gathering places for the global
construction, construction materials and power transmission
industries.
Recognition of Shows’ Global Scope
DOC will provide promotional assistance to attract an international audience to the shows, as well as onsite export-promotion services to facilitate transactions between exhibitors and attendees.
Key activities are sponsorship of official trade delegations to attend the shows and a “matchmaking” service to help exhibitors connect with potential distributors and end-user customers from international markets.
Only a few expositions are selected for IBP status each year, based on DOC’s assessment of the quality of the events and the export potential of the industries they serve.
At the last CONEXPO-CON/AGG and co-located IFPE, held in 2002, international attendees came from 127 countries around the world and accounted for more than 14 percent of the shows’ total attendance.
