“Ag outlook” sessions focus on international trade

AEM participated in two major ag-related conferences earlier this year as part of the association's ongoing efforts to stay abreast of the latest issues and challenges affecting the agriculture sector and their potential impact on equipment manufacturing.

During the annual U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) “Agricultural Outlook Forum," USDA and ag world leaders discussed topics ranging from international trade, grain and oilseed outlooks to renewable energy. Secretary of Agriculture Ann M. Veneman opened the forum.

Secretary Veneman as well as U.S. Trade Representative Robert B. Zoellick were among the participants in the "Sparks 12th Annual Food and Agriculture Policy Conference" and discussed challenges in advancing agriculture issues in the framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The program also examined Canadian agriculture policy in the 21st century and agriculture's role in international affairs.
