Member survey: Data guides development of future member programs
AEM is now analyzing the results of its recent membership survey to better understand the value that members place on current services and to identify areas for future growth.
The survey had an excellent 22% return rate, and so will be a reliable indicator of member concerns and issues.
Top Business Needs Cited
The overriding business need that members cited was access to more market data, followed by increased international opportunities.
Other areas noted included international standards issues, industry testing and certification, liaison with supply/distribution channel partners and interaction with allied industries, especially important to address legislative and environmental challenges.
“Service” Surveys, Focus Groups Planned
To complement this key-issues survey, AEM later this year will conduct detailed “service surveys” to assess the needs of participants in the association’s product groups, job councils and technical committees.
The association will also query members about expectations and needs during a series of regional focus groups. Members of AEM’s Publications in Construction Association (PICA) will lend their expertise to help facilitate these focus groups.
More details will be made available to the membership as data is compiled and analyzed. For more information, contact AEM’s Al Cervero (414-298-4125).
