Statistical meetings update: Enhancing the value of market data reports
Spring Statistics Conference
The association’s Spring Statistics Conference will provide an educational opportunity for participants to learn more about the new features of AEM’s Internet-based data-reporting system in order to fully utilize its capabilities for tracking and analyzing company data.
During the conference, to be held in late April, members will also review reporting program procedures, timelines and other operational issues, and they can also propose changes for the following year’s programs.
The meeting is open to the statistical committees covering ag and commercial worksite equipment, dairy farm products and forestry/earthmoving/excavating machinery. The committees also hold a joint meeting in the fall.
Statistics Steering Committee
In February, the AEM Statistical Steering Committee (SSC) met to continue implementing the move of all association member statistical reporting programs to one harmonized system, processed by a third-party vendor. The SSC is charged with implementing the Board-approved plan to integrate the former CIMA and EMI data programs, with the conversion to be completed by the end of 2004.
Global Statistical Conference
And, the association will also participate in the industry-wide global meeting of the Intercontinental Statistical Committee (ISC) in June in Stockholm, Sweden.
The ISC facilitates dissemination of worldwide statistical data between members, which include association and company representatives from AEM, the European CECE group, Japanese CEMA association and Korean KOCEMA organization.
AEM is a founding member of the committee, as well as an ISC committee for cranes. The association is secretariat of the crane group.
