Saw blade application code refined
AEM’s Masonry and Concrete Saw Manufacturers Institute (SMI) has refined its blade application code, to make it easier for contractors to maximize their equipment investment by selecting the right saw blade to use when cutting a particular material.
Meeting End-user Needs
SMI worked with the Concrete Sawing & Drilling Association (CSDA), which represents an important customer group for SMI members, on potential code improvements to ensure they meet the needs of end-users.
The new refinements provide essential information to end-users in a reporting format that is more user-friendly for manufacturers to comply with, encouraging broad adoption of the code for the benefit of customers.
Program Open to All Manufacturers
AEM and CSDA had worked together to develop the original blade application code as part of SMI’s diamond saw blade certification program, which was introduced in 2002.
Both SMI members and non-members can certify their blades (and thus use the blade application code). For more information, contact AEM’s Russ Hutchison (414-298-4118).
