AG CONNECT Expo & Summit took to the air on November 8, 2012, landing interviews with influential farm broadcasters at the National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) Annual Convention in Kansas City, Missouri.
AG CONNECT arranged to have Kip Tom, a
top-tier producer and a participant in the show’s Masters & Mavericks program, speak to member broadcasters at the NAFB’s Trade Talk event about the benefits of attending AG CONNECT.
“A lot of shows have previews of new equipment,” said Tom, whose multi-generation family-owned organization farms 16,000 combined acres in Indiana and Argentina. “AG CONNECT not only has the latest technology, but can help producers improve their farming businesses structurally and financially. That kind of information is vital when taking the long view for your family and your farm.
“The information you hear at AG CONNECT about treating farming like a business will be vital to many. In the past few years, too many producers unfortunately have indulged in excessive overhead. Our goal at Tom Farms is to be patient and invest wisely so we can survive the lean years, like the one just past.”
Trade Talk is the centerpiece of the NAFB’s annual convention. More than 100 member broadcasters circulate among participants during all or parts of the six hours that Trade Talk is open. AG CONNECT is an official sponsor of the NAFB Annual Convention.
