Calder Brothers Raises Voice for I Make America Campaign, Backs Job Preservation Policies

Calder Brothers Corporation has sent a strong message to Congress and the White House in support of AEM’s pro-manufacturing stance, earning the Greenville, South Carolina, company elite Gold-level status in the I Make America campaign.

“Calder Brothers is proud to support I Make America because of its continuing dedication to the preservation of manufacturing jobs in America. No single company can solely change the views of decision makers, but because of I Make America, the manufacturing community has a voice that can be heard,” said Glen Calder, vice president of operations at Calder Brothers.

“It is important to protect and grow American manufacturing jobs,” he added. “Manufacturing is the creation of wealth, and leads to the success and flourishing of our communities. Calder Brothers and its employees urge others to help I Make America.”

Among other activities, Calder Brothers hosted a facility visit by Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), produced A Day in American Life video, and placed an article supporting I Make America in an industry trade publication.

“We commend Calder Brothers for achieving Gold status in the I Make America campaign,” said AEM President Dennis Slater. “As an AEM member, Calder Brothers exemplifies the commitment we need from all manufacturers around the country to send the message to Congress and the White House that our economy is in urgent need of a new manufacturing policy that will create jobs.”

Join the I Make America Campaign

I Make America is a grassroots campaign that was launched in September 2010 to dramatically improve American manufacturing policies to create more jobs in the U.S. and keep our economy competitive with other countries.

Gold-Level supporters are an important group of companies that have achieved participation benchmarks marking them as industry leaders, including significant employee involvement; outreach to their state, local and federal legislators; promoting campaign sign-ups at trade shows and with allied trade associations; and production of A Day in American Life video telling the story of how their companies, employees and communities “make America.”

The campaign is supported by more than 22,000 people nationwide, AEM’s 850-plus member companies and industry organizations.
