ICUEE, the International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition, has announced that the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP) will co-locate its popular Asset Management Symposium at the 2013 show. In addition, AEMP will once again bring its Fleet Management Exhibits Pavilion to the ICUEE show floor.
The Asset Management Symposium targets key industry issues that can include equipment finance, telematics, fleet metrics, and Tier 4 engine emissions. Professional certification courses will also be held. The Fleet Management Exhibits Pavilion will focus on the latest fleet management software, products and services.
“Fleet managers are an important customer segment for ICUEE exhibiting companies; AEMP’s support helps us more efficiently connect buyers and sellers and enhance the show experience for all participants,” stated Sara Truesdale Mooney, ICUEE show director.
“By working with ICUEE, we can offer our members and other industry workers more professional development opportunities and convenient access to the latest technology advances to help them and their businesses succeed,” stated Stan Orr, CAE, AEMP president and chief strategy officer.
ICUEE is scheduled for October 1-3, 2013, at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The show features the latest equipment, technologies, products and services targeted to utility professionals and utility construction contractors in the electric, telecommunications, cable, sewer/water, and natural gas sectors.
ICUEE Sponsors New Diesel Technician Scholarship
ICUEE also announced a new ICUEE Scholarship in partnership with AEMP through the AEMP Foundation. To help alleviate the critical technician shortage facing the heavy equipment industry, the foundation offers scholarships to students attending qualified schools with a two-year diesel technician program.
For 2012, the ICUEE Technician Scholarship for $2,000 went to John R. Kulsa, who is majoring in diesel and heavy equipment at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology; ICUEE also provided an additional $500 in support of the AEMP Foundation’s general scholarship fund.
AEMP works to foster industry professionalism and growth and to advance the asset management profession and those working in the heavy equipment industry. In addition to scholarships, AEMP offers professional development education opportunities along with three accreditation programs.
“ICUEE showcases the latest product innovations in the utility/construction industry, so we are very aware of the need for qualified technicians with the skills necessary to maintain this sophisticated equipment; AEMP is an industry leader and we are very pleased to support its educational efforts,” said Mooney.
“Properly trained diesel technicians are vital for keeping equipment in top operating condition; partnering with ICUEE helps us extend the reach of our scholarship program and build the future workforce,” said Orr.
