A newly created AEM China Engine Committee will play an active role in shaping the soon-coming China Stage III nonroad engine emission regulations.
The committee, under the auspices of the AEM China Office, will serve as a platform for members to monitor policy, regulatory and standards updates; facilitate communication among members; facilitate communication between members and government/institutes; and represent a unified membership voice on China engine issues.
The committee met for the first time at the AEM China Office in Beijing on January 21, 2013. Eighteen participants from eight member companies took part, either in person or by phone. Committee members discussed and agreed on their top three priorities for 2013.
The committee’s next action item is to organize a meeting between committee members and the key persons responsible for drafting China Stage III nonroad emission regulations.
