Wall Street Journal (July 28, 2009) - -Paccar Inc.'s second-quarter profit plunged 92%, prompting the commercial truck maker to further reduce its 2009 projection for heavy-duty truck sales. Paccar, whose brands include Peterbilt and Kenworth, said the ongoing slumps in housing construction and automotive sales continue to hold down shipping volumes, keeping trucking companies from replacing their trucks. |
