| Diesel Progress (March 17, 2010) - According to numerous press reports in the Southeast, Caterpillar plans to more than triple employment at its facility in Newberry, SC. . Cat is apparently transferring generator work done at its Griffin, Ga., plant to the 450,000-sq.ft. Newberry facility. Griffin would focus on engine production as a result of the move. |

| Chilean earthquake presents big infrastructure bill |
| World Highways (March 17, 2010) - Estimates now suggest that repairs to Chile’s earthquake damaged infrastructure will cost the country’s government in the region of US$1.2 billion. Meanwhile private highway operators are expected to pay an additional $200 million for repairs to links they manage. In all some 20 bridges will have to be demolished while another 20 will have to be extensively repaired or rebuilt and some of the works are expected to take up to three years to complete. |

| Canada's labor productivity, manufacturing growth rise |
| AP via Manufacturing.net (March 17, 2010) - More signs of a healthy economic recovery emerged Tuesday in upbeat reports on labor productivity and the manufacturing sector, both of which surpassed analysts' expectations. Statistics Canada said labor productivity at Canadian businesses grew 1.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2009.

| World Bank: China to grow 9.5% in 2010 |

| Construction lags in BLS state employment, hiring data; Manpower sees rosier outlook |
| AEM (March 15, 2010) - Seasonally adjusted payroll employment increased in January in 31 states and the District of Columbia, decreased in 18 states and remained unchanged in Idaho, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported on Wednesday. Employer costs for employee compensation in the private sector averaged $27.42 per hour in the fourth quarter of 2009, BLS reported on Wednesday, with $19.41 (70%) paid as wages and $8.00 as benefits. New orders from U.S. manufacturers (excluding semiconductor manufacturers) climbed 1.7%, seasonally adjusted, in January, the ninth increase in 10 months, the Census Bureau reported on March 4. Retail sales increased 0.3%, seasonally adjusted, in February and 4.4% from 12 months before, Census reported on Friday. |
