Safety
AEM coordinates a number of product-specific and industry liaison safety efforts on behalf of its members. Many AEM safety products apply to similar equipment, allowing members to distribute safety information with a unified voice for clarity in the marketplace.
Safety Store
AEM produces safety manuals, videos and training materials in an industry consensus format so that AEM members can distribute safety information with a unified voice for use in the marketplace. All safety materials are available for purchase by AEM members and non-members. Some technical materials are available as free store downloads. AEM members enjoy a discount on most AEM safety materials.
Pictorial Database
AEM offers a free database of industry recognized pictorial illustrations for voluntary use in the design of equipment safety signs, manuals and other training materials. Through the efforts of its members, AEM developed this database to promote greater consistency and clarity among pictorial images, so they are more recognizable by industry workers; thus, enhancing safety.
Safety Standards, Signs and Symbols
AEM maintains a list (not necessarily comprehensive) of voluntary industry safety sign and symbol standards. Standards may be obtained from the sponsoring organizations: ANSI, ASABE, SAE and ISO.
AEM Alliances
AEM has established alliances with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Mine, Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). This alliance relationship emphasizes the safe use and operation of equipment while maintaining an ongoing dialog between equipment manufacturers and regulators. These alliances merge the technical expertise of the manufacturers with the communication and administrative expertise of the regulatory authorities.
Product Safety & Compliance Seminar
This program covers the reactive and pro-active sides of the safety equation. The safety program delivers robust content in areas of standards and documentation, human factors, investigation and communications.
Product Liability Seminar
This seminar is particularly valuable to the product safety professional who may be called upon to support trial counsel in products litigation as well as manufacturers who do not have the benefit of dedicated claims staff.
