Safety
AEM coordinates a number of product-specific and industry liaison safety efforts on behalf of its members. Many AEM safety products apply to similar equipment, allowing members to distribute safety information with a unified voice for clarity in the marketplace.
Safety Store
AEM produces industry consensus safety materials that include safety manuals, videos and training materials. These materials provide users with a unified set of current best practices. All safety materials are available for purchase by AEM members and non-members, and certain technical materials are available as free store downloads. AEM members enjoy a discount on most AEM safety materials.
Pictorial Database
AEM offers a free database of industry recognized pictorial illustrations for voluntary use in the design of equipment safety signs, manuals and other training materials. AEM developed and hosts this database on behalf of its members to promote greater consistency and clarity among pictorial images, leading to greater recognition by industry workers and ultimately enhancing safety.
Standards for Safety Signs and Symbols
AEM maintains a list (not necessarily comprehensive) of voluntary industry safety sign and symbol standards. Standards may be obtained from sponsoring organizations, including ANSI, ASABE, SAE and ISO.
AEM Alliances
AEM has established alliances with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Mine, Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). Our relationships with these organizations emphasize the safe use and operation of equipment, while maintaining an ongoing dialog between equipment manufacturers and regulators. These alliances merge the technical expertise of the manufacturers with the communication and administrative expertise of the regulatory authorities.
Product Safety & Compliance Seminar
AEM’s annual Product Safety & Compliance Seminar covers the reactive and proactive sides of the safety equation delivering robust content in areas of standards and documentation, human factors, investigation and communications.
Product Liability Seminar
AEM’s annual Product Liability Seminar is particularly valuable to the product safety professional who may be called upon to support trial counsel in products litigation as well as manufacturers who do not have the benefit of dedicated claims staff.
