AEM Acronym Database Now Live!
This new database provides definitions for acronyms common to the industries AEM serves. In addition, the Acronym Database helps make sense of the acronyms used to describe AEM's many councils, bureaus, and committees. A must-use reference, particularly for new members!  (1/14/2004)

June 2003 International Council Legislative Fly-In – Advocacy for Public Policy Legislative Change!
In an effort to assist AEM’s members understand trade issues and effectively advocate international public policy, the AEM’s International Council held an International Council Legislative Flyin Forum on June 9-10, 2003, in Washington, D.C.  (11/20/2003)

AEM to Establish Operations in Canada: Incorporation of CFIEI Into AEM Will Expand Scope and Services
The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) will establish a Canadian presence by incorporating the operations of the Canadian Farm & Industrial Equipment Institute (CFIEI) into AEM. The incorporation, which was initiated by CFIEI, becomes effective January 1, 2004. All CFIEI members will automatically become AEM members.  (11/6/2003)

Construction Machinery Manufacturers Optimistic About 2004 Business Growth: AEM Releases Annual Industry "Outlook" Forecast
The construction machinery manufacturing industry expects overall business to remain slow through the end of 2003, but then anticipates 2004 growth in the 3% to 5% range, according to an annual industry forecast of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). Sales increases in 2004 are predicted for all major product groups covered in the AEM forecast, with the biggest gains in U.S. business. (10/23/2003)

AEM TEA-21 Reauthorization Matching-Fund Initiative in High Gear
The association’s initiative to advance transportation legislation reauthorization - matching funds up to $1 million for AEM member contributions - has raised more than $500,000 to date. The deadline is September 30 for Congress to extend TEA 21 legislation. The AEM program is an example of an industry investment with immediate impact on members. (8/28/2003)

Construction Machinery Exports Continue to Improve
U.S. construction equipment exports continued to improve in 2003 with the industry shipping more than $1.86 billion worth of machinery to global markets during the second quarter of this year, a 13.2% increase compared to the first quarter and a 12.6% gain over April-June 2002 figures, according to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM). (8/27/2003)
