AEM Economic Indicators Report for June 2008 Now Online
Increased government spending, higher U.S. exports and more demand for services helped keep the economy moving forward in first quarter 2008, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. U.S. GDP grew 0.9 percent between January and March, according to revised estimates. However, consumers and businesses are facing a number of financial challenges, including higher oil prices and the deteriorating housing market, which will continue to negatively impact the economy.
