Dynamic site navigation: Helps you find the information you need - faster!
Because the AEM site contains so many resources and tools, we paid extra attention to making it easy to use.
The vertical blue bar on the left side of each page is your key to navigating the AEM site. When you first enter our site, the menu shows only the primary menu items - the main content areas of our site. Each of these "top-level" buttons is a gateway to numerous pages and resources within that section.
If you click on one of these primary menu buttons, you will jump to the "home page" for the section you have chosen.

Once on this "home page," you will see that the menu has expanded to display all of the resources within this section of the site. Clicking on any one of these links will take you directly to that Web page.
"Trail of breadcrumbs" navigation
In a site of this size, it's important for you to always have a sense of where you are within it. That's why the AEM site includes what some people call a "trail of breadcrumbs" navigational tool.
If you look at the gray horizontal bar beneath the AEM logo you'll see a list of hypertext links separated by arrows. This shows you where the page you're currently viewing fits into the overall structure of the AEM site.
 Think of it as something like an organizational chart, where the first text heading on the left represents the top level of the org chart, and each additional heading represents the path from the AEM.org home page to the page you're currently viewing. Each text heading is a hypertext link, which means you can easily jump to any page in this hierarchy of site content.
What's the point? This secondary navigational tool is a big help when you're looking for a specific page and have found yourself on a Web page that is close to what you were looking for, but not quite what you had in mind. This so-called "trail of breadcrumbs" allows you to quickly jump to other Web pages that are closely related to the one you're now viewing, helping you to zero in on what you're looking for faster than ever before.
This navigation system is designed so that you always know where you are within the overall structure of the site, and where you can go to from here.
