Welcome to the North American ISOBUS Implementation Task Force (NAIITF) Resource Center! This Overview area is the main page that contains high-level information and also links to the subpages of this site such as past minutes, Plugfest schedules, etc. The navigation bar is shown to the right on these pages.

AEM sponsored a May 2009 gathering of 69 engineers from more than 15 companies at the University of Nebraska Tractor Test Lab in Lincoln, NE for the 10th North American ISOBUS (ISO 11783 electronic control and communications) "Plug Fest." A plug fest is where manufacturers test their devices with those from other companies. ISOBUS is a standard interface for the connection of tractor, mounted implements, and on-board computers for agricultural and forestry equipment. Eleven journalists and photographers from eight different agricultural media outlets also took part in the event, learning about ISOBUS, joining the industry engineers for lunch and observing the Plug Fest. The event was a great success, promoting the ISOBUS standards and advancing industry's "plug 'n play" functionality for the benefit of farmers.

Charter

NAIITF is a group of Industry representatives that:

Promotes the Standardization of a single Electronic Communications/Control Network (ISO 11783, ISOBUS) on Vehicles and Implements used in Agriculture and Forestry.

Welcomes the participation of all interested individuals and companies in this effort.

Coordinates with counterpart organizations in Europe and elsewhere to encourage the use of this world wide Standard.

Recommends changes or additions to the Standard via its participants who are part of the ISO/TAG process.

Provides general, public information about this Standard to all interested individuals and companies.

Encourages the development of approved test facilities so that manufacturers have a means of determining their product’s compliance with the ISOBUS Standard. This is commonly known as ISOBUS Compliance.

ISO 11783 (ISOBUS) This Electronic Standardization represents an effort similar to mechanical & hydraulic standardization efforts which have proven to be very successful. Companies headquartered outside of North America are strongly encouraged to participate in NAIITF, if interested. The North American focus applies only to the specific activities above. More information can be found in the Objectives & web pages of the NAIITF web site.

Download the Charter here.
