About the AEM Outlook Survey:

The AEM 2007-2008 Outlook survey queried construction equipment manufacturers in the third quarter of 2007 for their predictions for year-end 2007 and 2008 business volume.

The survey results cover 71 different whole machine product types and 23 types of attachments and components, grouped into seven broad product categories: earthmoving, lifting, bituminous, concrete and aggregate, light equipment, attachments and components and miscellaneous equipment.

Forecasts represent the overall average percent changes predicted for unit sales. Companies responded only to questions about the specific products they manufacture, and responses indicate their anticipated business volume for their industry segments as a whole and not individual company forecasts.

The following charts cover overall industry averages for 2007 vs. 2006 business and 2008 vs. 2007 business as well as individual respondent average predictions. Not all companies reported in all product categories.
