AEM Marketing Council Seminar

May 18-19, 2010
Las Vegas, NV

The off-road equipment industry continues to face economic challenges and remains focused on responding to the turbulent marketplace. With this in mind, AEM is transforming the council's seminar for 2010 – to provide extra value for members, and for exhibitors at AEM-produced trade shows.

Rather than hosting a stand-alone program, the Marketing Council seminar sessions will be held as a track in conjunction with the new AEM All-Show Exhibitor Meeting, May 18-19, 2010, in Las Vegas. (The Exhibitor Meeting will be of benefit to exhibitors of any show and not just CONEXPO-CON/AGG).

By combining these two programs, AEM is able to eliminate Marketing Council seminar registration fees and offer this quality education as a FREE member benefit. The Marketing Council Executive Committee is developing both breakout sessions as well as roundtable discussions. In addition, they are providing valuable input into general sessions that will benefit all attendees – These general sessions will highlight the importance of marketing in trade show planning including: Branding, Behavioral/Booth Design and Managing Leads to Sales.

Please stay tuned to this website for more program information.

AEM Marketing Council's Webinar Series

AEM is dedicated to delivering quality education to the membership. Especially during these economic times, companies need access to the information and tools needed to maintain a market presence. As promised, we are bringing you an exciting webinar series in place of the 2009 live Marketing Council Seminar. The webinars will offer more opportunity to an increased number of participants who are currently dealing with travel freezes or reduced travel budgets. This is the only marketing education specific to the off-road equipment manufacturing industry.

Maximizing Your International Trade-Show Presence

More and more companies are expanding their market base and entering the world of international trade shows. Planning a show abroad for the first time can be a stressful experience, but information from an experienced international exhibitor can help you prepare for success. In this presentation, Matt McCormick from Cimline, will provide you with essential tips to help you plan. He will address how to choose the right venue and target audience, translation issues, exhibiting on your own versus with a dealer or a pavilion, and the need for an umbrella organization as well as what it can do for you. In addition, you will hear about the exciting international exhibiting opportunities that AEM has to offer.

Customer Message Management: Taking Brand Messages to the Street Level
You've spent a lot of time and money to create your company's brand message. Now what? How are you going to translate the 30,000-foot brand message into something that resonates at the 3.0-foot level -- the distance between your sales people and your customer? What's needed is a systematic approach for developing messages and tools that sales people will actually use to deliver your brand more consistently at the all-important point of sales interaction. In this presentation, Tim Riesterer will provide a disciplined process that starts and ends with the customer, is synchronized to the customer buying process, and produces messages that can be used consistently and powerfully in customer conversations.

Inspiring Innovation & Creating Change
Creativity and innovation can put you on the path to market dominance. But how is creativity learned and how can you enable your team to think out-of-the-box? How do you put your ideas into action once you have them? Tom Koulopoulos is president of the Delphi Group, and was a highly rated speaker at AEM's annual conference. An author and futurist, he has provided keen insight and vision on the direction and evolution of business and technology for more than 25 years. In this presentation, Tom will challenge you to become a world-class innovator by explaining how to translate ideas into tools, and how innovation can transform an organization.

Crisis Management and Communication
Every crisis communications plan in the world needs periodic makeovers to reflect rapid changes in technology and revelations brought forth in recent crises. The International Association of Business Communicators says that one-third of all organizations have no plan. Of the 66 percent with plans, crisis communications expert Gerard Braud predicts that most of those plans would serve little or no purpose on the day of the crisis because of design flaws and outdated content. In this presentation, Gerard will identify the secrets to building a simple but effective plan, new threats to crisis communication and the strategies and tips needed for successful crisis communication.
