Background

The U.S. Export-Import Bank is the national export credit agency. Since 1932, Ex-Im Bank has provided export credit and insurance to U.S. manufacturers. The bank has supported billions in U.S. exports and generates revenue for the U.S. Treasury.

Status

The Export-Import Bank’s operations were reauthorized by Congress in late 2015. 

Position

AEM is a leading voice on the importance of reauthorizing the Ex-Im Bank, and has urged lawmakers to take steps to ensure the bank’s board is adequately staffed to promote the bank’s core functions.
