Academic papers, a robotics competition and professional research presentations – not to mention four days of committee meetings – brought more than 1,700 attendees together for the 2019 Annual International Meeting of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE).

AEM certainly made its presence felt at the meeting, held July 7-10 in Boston, as Senior Vice President of Ag Services Curt Blades delivered the keynote address at an AEM-sponsored breakfast that focused on the growing interest of students looking to the agriculture industry as a desirable career choice.

Along with AEM, the Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF) was in attendance at this year’s ASABE meeting.

AEF General Manager Norbert Schlingmann presented at a pair of events: one on wireless in-field communication and at a special event focusing on automation in ag equipment. Schlingmann and and Andrew Olliver, team leader for PT06, presented Tractor-Implement Management (TIM) information to a group of more than 70 attendees. The number of questions after the presentation showed the growing interest in the TIM functionality.
