On Aug. 22, AEM hosted more than 40 officials from Canada’s Pest Management and Regulatory Agency (PMRA) for a day of field demonstrations highlighting the environmental benefits of modern sprayer and planter technologies.

Technical experts from AGCO, CNH Industrial, John Deere and Vaderstad were on site for in-depth conversations with PMRA staff, who appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the tools available for today’s farmers.

Partnering organizations Grain Farmers of Ontario and the Canadian Seed Trade Association were on hand to deliver key message around seed treatments and the decision-making process of producers.

This was AEM’s fourth equipment demo for regulatory officials, and the first in Canada. These hands-on events have proven to be a proactive way to engagement policymakers in a positive, education-focused way. To learn more, watch the video below...

AEM plans to continue the program in 2019 and is exploring a manure management demo day for the U.S. EPA and USDA. Those interested in participating should contact AEM Senior Director of Government and Industry Relations Nick Tindall (ntindall@aem.org, tel: 202-701-4287).
