Workdplace GuidanceThe Government of Canada continues to rollout COVID assistance programs for negatively impacted businesses. This week, Ministers Bill Morneau and Navdeep Bains announced the opening of the application process for the government’s Large Employer Emergency Financing Facility (LEEFF). The program will support Canada’s largest employers, whose needs during the pandemic are not being met with conventional financing. In edition to LEEFF, Prime Minister Trudeau has announced expanded eligibility criteria for the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) and opening Canada’s Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CECRA) for applications, beginning May 25.

To date, the Government of Canada’s numerous assistance programs have covered $151 billion in direct support measures and $386 billion in credit and liquidity. To assist companies as they try to access these support programs, AEM has created a document summarizing the programs. In addition, we are updating our workplace guidance document as provinces continue to announce reopening plans.
