Several AEM staffers spent a portion of their Tuesday this week volunteering to collect U.S. flags at nearby Woods National Cemetery in Milwaukee.
In the days preceding Memorial Day, flags are placed at each of the 38,000-plus gravestones to honor the sacrifices made by veterans of the U.S. armed forces. This is the sixth year in which AEM has organized a group of employees to remove the flags for storage.
“AEM is committed to seeking out opportunities to serve our local community of Milwaukee, and also honoring the men and women who fought for our nation and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms,” said AEM Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Operations Judy Gaus, who volunteered and whose team organized this year’s effort.
