Dennis SlaterAEM President Dennis Slater has been named the 2020 Ag Association Leader of the Year by the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA).

According to NAMA, the award recognizes outstanding achievement and excellence among senior executives who have made significant contributions to the agriculture industry in their roles with associations or commodity organizations.

“I’m truly humbled to have been named Ag Association Leader of the Year by the National Agri-Marketing Association,” said Slater. “This honor is a testament to all of the hard work put forth by AEM to build momentum for agriculture and act as a unifying force on issues important to the ag industry.”

Slater will be honored with the award during the 2020 Agri-Marketing Conference, scheduled for April 15-17 in San Diego, California.

In his role as president of AEM, Slater oversees the strategic direction and operation of all AEM programs, including market information, public policy and exhibitions. Under Slater’s leadership, AEM has grown to more than 1,000 corporate members representing more than 200 product lines in the agriculture, construction, forestry, mining and utility equipment sectors worldwide.

In an announcement released earlier this week, NAMA stated “As AEM members’ success depends on that of the farmers throughout the country, (Slater) drives an aggressive advocacy program and Ag Sector Board priorities that focus on the best interests of the farmers and ag equipment manufacturers throughout the country and around the world. AEM, under (Slater’s) leadership, remains committed to using its strong voice to not only advocate on behalf of its members, but also the ag equipment manufacturing industry as a whole.”
