The submissions deadline for the 2017 SAE/AEM Outstanding Young Engineer award is quickly approaching.
Established in 1996, this award recognizes an outstanding young engineer in the off-highway or power plant industry. Candidates are nominated by their managers, with the nomination supported by another SAE member.
The nomination and supporting document should clearly state information to judge the individual's capabilities against the qualifications listed below:
- Degreed engineer from the off-highway or power plant industry
- Less than 10 years of industry experience
- Community involvement
- Leadership in SAE activities
The successful candidate will receive a framed certificate and a $500 honorarium at the SAE Commercial Vehicle Engineering Congress & Exhibition.
Details and a submission portal are available at the following link:
SAE has also made a marketing document available for use in promoting nominations within your organization.
“Please review this material and provide a submission, if you are so inclined, and/or forward to the appropriate individuals in your organizations,” said Mike Pankonin, AEM senior director, technical and safety services. “The submission deadline is rapidly approaching and we encourage you to nominate deserving candidates.”
