We can measure trade show ROIBy Megan Tanel, AEM Senior Vice President, Exhibitions and Events

What’s the value of a trade show? So many ask that question. We hear constantly (and rightfully so) that there is no way to measure the return on investment from exhibiting at a trade show. And we’ve tried to share that there is.

We’ve offered webinars, face-to-face seminars, articles, trained speakers, best practices white papers and individual meetings with some of our exhibiting companies. Still the question remains regarding value.

The biggest deterrent so far has been the willingness to change how metrics are measured and how to capture the data to do the measuring, as well as trusting in us having your company’s best interests in mind.

We’ve gone one step further, and we’ve invested in the tools to make it easy, affordable and just plain possible to determine ROI. We are offering access to data you’ve never had before through a subsidy toward technology.

We’re offering additional tools to gather and analyze data at affordable prices. And we’re offering a partnership with a respected company to track your leads, tying them to actual sales three, six and 12 months post-show.

We have the tools and means for tracking, measuring and reporting on ROI for our flagship CONEXPO-CON/AGG show. And we are working to offer the same services through partnerships with leading agriculture trade shows.

We have the answers to many of the challenges you’re facing. We want you to spend wisely and utilize all the options available to you. We ask for you to look at us as a partner as opposed to a vendor. We represent your industry in so many services, and connecting you to your customers happens to be one of the most important.

If you are exhibiting at CONEXPO-CON/AGG or IFPE, there is still a chance to take advantage of these tools. There is no other trade show offering you this type of access to data. Why not give it a try and see where it takes you?
