LagemannFormer AEM Board Chair and current Deere & Co. Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Agriculture and Turf Division for Regions 3 and 4 John Lagemann has announced his retirement, effective Oct. 31.

Lagemann has served on AEM’s Board of Directors since 2014, and in various leadership roles within the Association since 2011. He was the 2019 AEM Board Chair, and previously led AEM’s Ag Sector Board.

“I want to congratulate John on his retirement, and of equal importance, thank him for his many years of leadership, support and contributions to AEM, its members and our staff,” said AEM President Dennis Slater.

“John led us last year during a pivotal time as we developed and approved the new Strategic Plan that will guide the Association for the next three-plus years,” continued Slater. “He was a huge advocate for AEM with his Deere colleagues and throughout the industry. AEM is a better organization because of John’s leadership and many contributions. And, for me personally, John provided his support, guidance and friendship throughout his time working with AEM.”

In his role with Deere, Lagemann is responsible for sales and go-to-market activities in the Americas and Australia. In June of 2019, additional responsibilities were added for Region 2 (Europe) to establish and prioritize requirements for key tactical marketing, sales and channel development processes, tools and systems.

Lagemann joined John Deere as a marketing representative at the Kansas City Sales Branch in 1982. He worked with dealers and customers in various field assignments at the Kansas City Sales Branch until 1994. He was named Manager, Factory Marketing at John Deere Harvester Works in 1994 and became manager of John Deere operations in Australia, New Zealand and East Asia in 1999.

Lagemann was named Vice President of Sales for the United States and Canada in 2002. In 2009, he was appointed Vice President, Ag & Turf Sales and Marketing for the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand (Region 4).

Lagemann earned his bachelor's degree in feed science and management and his MBA from Kansas State University.
