Manufacturing Day

The importance of highlighting the value of modern manufacturing careers and encouraging organizations of all types and sizes to educate and inspire the workforce of tomorrow are among the reasons AEM members should observe Manufacturing Month this October.

Is your company planning to celebrate? Let us know. Manufacturing Month serves as a valuable opportunity for manufacturers to amplify their individual voices and coordinate a collective chorus with common concerns and challenges. More specifically, it allows for manufacturers to connect with their local communities – including students, educators, businesspeople, media members and politicians – as part of an effort to inform the public at large about career opportunities in the industry and enhance the perception of manufacturing overall.

“AEM encourages its members to open their doors to students, teachers, parents and community leaders in an effort to build a positive perception of the equipment manufacturing industry and raise awareness of the career paths that are available for the workforce of tomorrow,” said AEM President Dennis Slater. “Our industry plays a huge role in building our cities and feeding our world, and communicating the economic and social significance of manufacturing is critical to ensuring a bright future for the equipment industry and those whom it serves.”

In addition to celebrating Manufacturing Month, AEM encourages its members to observe Manufacturing Day. This year, Manufacturing Day is slated for Friday, Oct. 4. Manufacturing Day was created in 2012 by the National Association of Manufacturers and the Manufacturing Institute, now with more than 20 corporate sponsors.
