U.S. retail sales of farm tractors under 40 HP saw an increase of 10 percent in June compared to one year ago, according to numbers released this week by AEM.
However, sales of farm tractors rose by just 5 percent overall, as sales of farm tractors over 100 HP dropped by 17 percent compared to June of 2016.
Meanwhile, Canadian retail sales of farm tractors rose by 23.5 percent, bolstered by a 41.4 percent increase in the sales of farm tractors under 40 HP. However, sales of tractors over 100 HP dropped significantly (28.8 percent) when compared to June of last year.
U.S. retail sales of self-propelled combines were up 18.7 percent versus a year ago, while Canadian combine sales dropped 21.1 percent compared to this time last year.
