LindaLinda Hasenfratz, president and CEO of AEM member company Linamar Corporation, was recently named as a member of the Order of Canada.

According to a news release issued by the office of Governor General of Canada Julie Payette, Hasenfratz, who serves on the AEM Board of Directors, was bestowed the honor “for her efforts to develop economic opportunities in Canada and elsewhere, and for her ongoing community involvement.”

Hasenfratz was one of 103 new appointments to the Order of Canada, and she joins her father, Frank, who was named in 2014 and invested two years later.

Created in 1967, the Order of Canada is one of the country’s most prestigious honors. Presented by the governor general, the Order celebrates individuals whose service shapes society, whose innovations ignite our imaginations, and whose compassion unites communities.

Hasenfratz has led the Guelph-based auto parts manufacturer founded by her father since 2002. In addition, she has served as co-chair of the Canada-United States Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders, and was named Canada`s Outstanding CEO of the Year for 2018. She also chairs Next Generation Manufacturing Canada, the nonprofit corporation representing Canada`s advanced manufacturing supercluster.
