Mexican airport operator OMA will invest 400mn pesos (US$21.7mn) to develop, expand and remodel San Luis Potosí airport terminal.

The works, which will start by November and last 20 months, will build and redesign a total of 13,000m2, three times the surface of the current terminal, OMA said.

With the expansion works, the terminal will have a capacity for over 1mn passengers.

Airport traffic in in San Luis Potosí state has grown 60% in the last two years, including a 4.2% increase to 101,178 passengers in Q1.


Mexican airport operator OMA posted a 5.3% year-on-year increase in passenger traffic in April to 1.45mn passengers.

Domestic traffic was up 7% while the number of international passengers decreased 5.2%, according figures from the operator.
